Nigerian singer Omawumi has shed light on her past relationships with the late rapper Dagrin and late music producer Dokta Frabz, putting long-standing rumours to rest.
Speaking in a recent interview, the soulful vocalist clarified that her relationship with Dagrin was purely platonic, despite speculations that they were romantically involved following their 2009 collaborative hit Thank God.
“Dagrin was my guy, we used to hang out together. He was a fantastic person,” Omawumi revealed, describing the late rapper as a genuine friend and creative force.
However, the Bottom Belle crooner confirmed that she once dated the late producer Dokta Frabz, describing him as a passionate lover of music who inspired her artistry.
“I was drawn to Dokta Frabz because he was such a lover of music. He was incredibly talented. He would look into my eyes while singing and I’d be cheering. I met most of the music industry figures through him. We actually dated,” she admitted.
Dagrin died in an auto crash in April 2010, while Dokta Frabz passed away in 2021, both leaving lasting legacies in Nigeria’s music scene.
