Nigeria’s inflation rate fell for the seventh straight month in October 2025, sliding to 16.05 percent from 18.02 percent recorded in September, according to fresh data released Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) report revealed that the country’s headline inflation dropped by 0.93 percent month-on-month, reinforcing earlier projections by analysts who had forecast a continued moderation.
The NBS data also showed that food inflation slowed, recording a -0.37 percent month-on-month decline in October—an indication of easing pressure on staple prices.
“In October 2025, the headline inflation rate eased to 16.05 percent… The food inflation rate was -0.37 percent MoM,” the Bureau posted on its official X handle.
Analysts had earlier predicted the downward trend, citing improved food supply and stronger monetary interventions as key drivers.
