• Board seals hotspot as underage suspects linked to three states
• Missing girl rescued in Sokoto, reunited with family

The Kano State Hisbah Board has raided and shut down a popular hangout along Zoo Road in Kano Municipal, arresting seven young people alleged to be cross-dressing and engaging in immoral activities.

Deputy Commander General of the Board, Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, confirmed the arrests to Radio Nigeria, saying all the suspects—aged below 23—were picked up after a good Samaritan raised an alarm over suspicious gatherings at the location. According to him, the informant reported that young men routinely converged on the spot, where vehicles “frequently arrived to pick them up.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects came from Kogi, Bauchi and Kano States.

During the operation, Hisbah operatives also apprehended a young man and a woman found together inside a tricycle.

In a separate development, the Board traced a missing young lady to Sokoto, successfully reuniting her with her parents.

Sheikh Mujahid said the facility would be sealed off for allegedly harbouring underage youths involved in immoral behaviour.
“The suspects and the operators of the facility will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further actions,” he stated.

He reaffirmed Hisbah’s commitment to curbing social vices in the state and encouraged residents to promptly report suspicious activities.
