Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has openly expressed his desire to collaborate with global pop icon Rihanna, saying the partnership could produce exceptional music.
Davido disclosed this during a live-stream session with popular Nigerian streamer and singer, Carter Efe, on Wednesday evening. The three-hour Twitch broadcast attracted widespread attention from fans across the globe.
When asked by Carter Efe which artistes he would like to feature on future projects, Davido did not hesitate. He named Rihanna and American R&B singer Kehlani as top international acts he hopes to work with.
“I would definitely love to do a song with Rihanna, Kehlani as well. I think me and Rihanna would make some dope music,” Davido said. He also mentioned fellow Nigerian stars Tems, Ayra Starr and Morravey as collaborators he would love to team up with.
The revelation comes just days after an AI-generated song, which blended Davido’s vocals with Rihanna’s voice, went viral on social media, sparking conversations about the possibility of a real-life collaboration between the two music heavyweights.
Davido remains one of Africa’s most influential music exports, known for pushing Afrobeats onto the global stage through high-profile international collaborations.
