Nigerian singer Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, has publicly criticised fellow artiste Mavo, branding him “untalented” and accusing him of relying heavily on auto-tune to mask weak musical ability.

Portable made the remarks in a video shared on his social media platforms, where he reacted to a clip of Mavo’s recent live band performance. The Zazu crooner argued that the performance exposed what he described as Mavo’s lack of vocal strength and stage command.

According to Portable, Mavo’s dependence on auto-tune becomes evident during live sessions, insisting that the Shakabulizzy singer failed to meet basic performance standards. He further claimed that artists signed to his label possess stronger vocal abilities than Mavo.

In the video, Portable faulted established celebrities who collaborate with and promote Mavo, accusing them of supporting what he termed “overhyped” talent while ignoring more deserving artistes.

Mavo has not issued any response to the criticism as of the time of filing this report.
