Niger Tornadoes have secured a ₦2 million cash reward following their hard-fought 1–0 victory over Rivers United in a rescheduled Matchday 26 clash of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The encounter, played at the Bako Kontagora Stadium on Thursday, saw the home side edge past their opponents courtesy of a decisive strike from Terdoo Shimagande.

Shimagande’s goal proved enough to hand the Sai Masu Gida all three points in a tightly contested fixture.

In recognition of the victory, Chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission, Danjuma Abdul Masu, announced a cash reward of ₦2 million for the players immediately after the match.

The win lifts Niger Tornadoes to 10th position on the league table with 39 points from 30 matches, strengthening their push for a higher finish this season.

They will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Abia Warriors as the league campaign continues.
