Head coach of Akwa United, Paul Offor, has praised his players for their strong response in training as they prepare for a crucial encounter against Godswill Akpabio FC.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Offor commended the team’s attitude and urged his players to approach the game with seriousness and determination.

Akwa United will face Godswill Akpabio FC at the Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday in what is expected to be a decisive fixture.

“Our game against Godswill Akpabio FC is a very important one for us. I am very happy with the character and attitude the players have shown in training ahead of this match,” Offor said during a pre-match interview.

The coach emphasized the need for a winning mentality, charging his players to treat the encounter like a home game and deliver a performance that would excite supporters.

“We have to approach this game like it is a home game for us. That is the mentality I want to see. We must give the fans a reason to cheer,” he added.

Offor also stressed the importance of securing maximum points, noting that victory would play a key role in achieving the club’s objectives for the season.

“I want us to maintain a top mentality so we can come out with three points, which will be crucial to us achieving our objective this season,” he stated.

The upcoming match carries added significance, as both sides settled for a 1-1 draw in their first-leg meeting earlier in the campaign.
