The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms to May 8, 2026.

The decision was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who said the extension is intended to ensure that all eligible candidates have sufficient opportunity to access tertiary education.

“As part of measures aimed at ensuring that no Direct Entry prospective candidate is denied the opportunity to access tertiary education in the country, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the sale of Direct Entry application documents to 8th May 2026 from the earlier closing date,” the statement said.

JAMB also approved five additional registration centres to support the application process, particularly in areas experiencing high demand.

The new centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL) Mini Campus at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State; Bells University of Technology in Ota; Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye; the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre at the Federal College of Education Special Oyo in Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House) in Iwaya.

According to the board, the additional centres, which began operations on April 30, 2026, are expected to reduce congestion and improve access for candidates completing their Direct Entry registration.
