Police Parade Suspects Over Adebayo Adelabu Sister’s Abduction

By Babatunji Wusu| The Oyo State Police Command has paraded suspects arrested in connection with the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.

The suspects were presented following investigations into the high-profile kidnapping case, which generated widespread concern among residents before the victims were rescued by security operatives.

Authorities said the arrests marked a significant breakthrough in efforts to uncover those responsible for the crime and dismantle the network behind the operation. Investigations are continuing as security agencies work to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the incident.

The victims, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly abducted on June 3, 2026, in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan. They were later freed following coordinated security operations.

The development comes days after the Oyo State Government demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community along Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan. State authorities alleged that the property was used as a hideout by members of the kidnapping gang.

Government officials described the demolition as part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state. They reiterated that any property found to be connected to criminal operations would face appropriate sanctions under existing laws.

The parade of the suspects highlights the intensified crackdown on kidnapping and organised crime in Oyo State, with authorities pledging to sustain operations aimed at protecting lives and property.

Security agencies have assured residents that investigations remain active and that all those involved in the abduction will be brought to justice. The case continues to draw public attention as efforts to strengthen security across the state gather momentum.
