Bright Osayi-Samuel Return to Fenerbahce gathers pace as transfer talks begin

Bright Osayi-Samuel return to Fenerbahce has moved closer after Turkish giants Fenerbahce opened talks to re-sign the Nigerian defender, according to reports. The 28-year-old spent last season with Birmingham City but struggled for regular playing time.

Turkish outlet Milat Spor reports that Fenerbahce want to bring the right-back back to Istanbul before the transfer window closes.

Osayi-Samuel previously represented Fenerbahce for more than four years before leaving in 2025 after both sides failed to agree on a new contract. He then joined Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City in search of fresh opportunities.

However, the Nigerian international found game time difficult to secure during his first season in England. As a result, he is now considering a move back to familiar surroundings.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce believe Bright Osayi-Samuel return to Fenerbahce could strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new campaign. Reports also suggest the defender enjoys a strong relationship with newly appointed coach İsmail Kartal, who has managed the club on three occasions.

Although neither club has confirmed the negotiations, discussions are said to be progressing. If an agreement is reached, Bright Osayi-Samuel return to Fenerbahce would mark a swift comeback for the Nigerian defender after only one season away.
