Uche Ogbodo confirms marriage crash after weeks of speculation surrounding her relationship with her younger husband, Bobby Maris. The actress broke her silence on Instagram, saying she had reached her limit and no longer wanted to remain in the marriage.
Speculation gathered pace after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. In addition, cryptic posts shared by both parties and the actress’s younger sister fuelled rumours that their relationship had ended.
However, on Tuesday evening, Uche Ogbodo confirms marriage crash in a series of Instagram Story posts. She questioned why society often criticises women who choose to leave unhappy marriages.
“I no do again nah sin?” she wrote.
The actress also expressed frustration over what she described as unequal expectations in marriage. She argued that women should not be condemned for admitting they are emotionally exhausted.
“For person to tire for marriage now nah taboo because nah woman? Must it always be man must tire? My tired is tired! I’m tired of the princess wey dey marry me,” she wrote, referring to her husband.
Furthermore, Ogbodo reflected on the years she had invested in the relationship. She suggested that eight years should be enough for anyone to decide whether to continue or walk away from a marriage.
She also warned critics against judging her decision, saying she only wanted peace and happiness.
Neither Bobby Maris nor his representatives has publicly responded to her comments as of the time of filing this report.
The actress’s statement has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users divided over her decision. While some applauded her honesty and prioritising her well-being, others urged the couple to seek reconciliation.
