DJ Chicken arrested after the Nigeria Police Force detained the controversial disc jockey over an alleged death threat against Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The DJ Chicken arrested story followed a viral video in which the entertainer allegedly declared that President Tinubu would not win the 2027 presidential election. He also allegedly threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu if the president secured re-election.
Two days after the video spread across social media, speculation about his arrest intensified. However, on Thursday night, content creator Tunde Perry confirmed during a livestream that police had taken DJ Chicken into custody.
According to Perry, the arrest did not result from a direct complaint by the president or his son. Instead, he claimed that individuals close to the presidency reported the matter to security authorities.
The Nigeria Police Force has not yet released an official statement explaining the circumstances of the arrest or any charges that may be filed. Likewise, DJ Chicken has not publicly responded since news of the arrest emerged.
Meanwhile, the incident has triggered widespread debate online about political speech, freedom of expression and the legal consequences of making violent threats against public figures.
