ADC rejects INEC nomination portal claims as party challenges Gombe faction

ADC rejects INEC nomination portal claims and has dismissed reports that a faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe uploaded the names of a presidential candidate and other nominees to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal. The party described the allegation as false and insisted that the electoral commission would not grant portal access to a leadership it does not recognise.

In a statement, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said INEC issues nomination portal access only to recognised party leadership. He added that the commission cannot issue two nomination codes to the same political party.

The party also challenged the Gombe faction to present evidence supporting the alleged upload. According to Abdullahi, anyone claiming to have accessed the portal without official recognition must prove the claim.

Furthermore, the ADC urged INEC to investigate what it described as the unauthorised use or possible forgery of documents allegedly linked to the commission. The party argued that such actions could mislead the public and damage confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process.

Abdullahi maintained that ADC rejects INEC nomination portal claims because the commission’s procedures prevent unauthorised groups from submitting candidates. He stressed that allowing multiple groups to access the same party’s nomination portal would undermine the integrity of the electoral system.

Meanwhile, the party said it remains confident that INEC will examine the allegations and take appropriate steps to protect its processes. It added that ADC rejects INEC nomination portal claims because they do not reflect the commission’s established nomination procedures.
