PDP Governorship Primary Lawsuit has taken a new turn after Monica Yahaya Kaltho withdrew from the court case challenging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Gombe State. Kaltho also declared support for the party’s governorship candidate, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, ahead of the 2027 election.

Kaltho announced her decision in a statement released on Saturday through Hussaini Ali Muhammed, media aide to former Gombe State Governor Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.

She said she withdrew from the PDP governorship primary lawsuit after consulting with Dankwambo, whom she described as a respected leader and father figure. According to Kaltho, she accepted his appeal because party unity and the future of Gombe State matter more than personal ambition.

The lawsuit was filed by some dissatisfied PDP governorship aspirants. They challenged the conduct and outcome of the party’s primary, arguing that only one candidate was presented for affirmation.

However, Kaltho said the party should now unite behind Pantami. She pledged to work for his victory in the 2027 governorship election and urged members to focus on returning the PDP to power in the state.

Furthermore, she called on party supporters to put aside their differences and work together to strengthen the PDP. She said unity remains the party’s best chance of winning the next governorship election.

The PDP governorship primary lawsuit remains a key issue in Gombe politics as the party prepares for the 2027 polls.
