NYSC Sets August 5 for Batch B Stream II

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation programme will begin on 5 August 2026 across Nigeria. The NYSC orientation exercise will run for three weeks in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, ending on 25 August 2026.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme confirmed that prospective corps members can now view their Call-up Numbers through their online dashboards. It also stated that Call-up Letters will be released soon.

According to the statement, “Accordingly, Call-up Numbers have been uploaded to the dashboards of prospective Corps Members, while Call-up Letters will be made available in due course.”

The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated all prospective corps members selected for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II service year. He praised them for successfully completing their studies in higher institutions both within and outside Nigeria, making them eligible for national service.

The statement said, “He congratulates all prospective Corps Members mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Service Year on the successful completion of their studies in higher institutions within and outside Nigeria, which has qualified them for national service.”

The NYSC also urged prospective corps members to make safety their top priority while travelling to their orientation camps. The Director-General advised them to avoid night journeys and comply with all travel guidelines. The statement added, “He wishes them a safe journey to their respective Orientation Camps and strongly advises them to avoid travelling at night. The Director General also urges them to strictly adhere to all travel and safety guidelines throughout their journey to the camps.”

The announcement follows the successful completion of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation exercise, which took place nationwide from 10 June to 30 June. In Niger State, however, the programme was rescheduled and held between 7 July and 27 July at the NYSC orientation camp in Kubwa, Abuja, after the state’s camp was damaged.
