Francis Fadahunsi Faces Police Over Alleged Threat Against Accord Party Members

Senator Francis Fadahunsi has reported to the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo after authorities invited him over an alleged threat against members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The Osun East senator arrived at the command headquarters at about 2:35pm on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Samuel Erale, the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security matters.

The invitation followed a video that circulated widely on social media on Tuesday.

In the video, Francis Fadahunsi spoke in Yoruba and appeared to make a threat against Accord Party members seen in Ilesa before the election.

The senator allegedly said such individuals should be killed. The remarks have since triggered concern ahead of the closely watched election.

Francis Eniade, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, was also mentioned in reports surrounding the incident.

However, the circumstances surrounding the video and the full context of the senator’s remarks remain important in determining what was said and what was intended.

The police invitation comes as security agencies increase their focus on political activities ahead of the Osun governorship election.
