The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has praised Nigerian youths for their resilience amid the country’s economic and social challenges, while calling for greater opportunities and participation in national affairs.

The party said Nigerian youths continue to seek dignity, decent employment, quality education and a sustainable future. It also said young people want a stronger voice in shaping the country’s political and economic direction.

According to the APM, Nigerian youths have played an important role in Nigeria’s development. The party recalled their contribution to the struggle for independence in 1960 and their achievements in sports, education and technological innovation.

The party said young Nigerians have continued to win national and international recognition in different fields.

However, the APM argued that the country must create better conditions for young people to fulfil their potential.

It said the party remains youth-focused and would pursue an inclusive government if elected in the 2027 presidential election.

The APM made the comments to mark International Youth Day. It urged Nigerians to use the occasion to recognise the contributions of young people and promote policies that support their development.

“Let us use the occasion of International Youth Day to appreciate and recognise Nigerian youth and create an enabling environment that will spur them to greatness,” the party said.

The statement comes as youth unemployment, education and political participation remain major issues in Nigeria. Therefore, the party’s message places young people at the centre of its political agenda ahead of the 2027 election.

For Nigerian youths, however, the key question will be whether political promises translate into concrete opportunities, better jobs and meaningful representation.
