Babatunji Wusu –

At the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, the death of 100-level cadet A.S. Jika has led to turmoil.

The first-year sociology student passed away on Saturday at the university hospital.

The dead is the son of Alhaji Haliru Jika, a senator and the former head of the committee on police in the House of Representatives.

According to a classmate of the deceased who wished to remain anonymous to SaharaReporters, Jika’s death was brought on by the negligence of staff members at the police training school.

He asserted that the deceased might have survived the “malaria sickness” if the medical team had acted promptly.

The source also stated that the academy clinic’s services have been the subject of vehement complaints from both students and staff at the institution.

At the police academy, we just lost a recruit to malaria. The youngster was in the clinic for three days without getting any care, and today he passed away,” he said.

We do grumble about the clinic’s condition, a 400-level cadet noted. When we visit the clinic, Paracetamol is the strongest medication they give us. How is paracetamol administered to treat pneumonia?

Sometime, a cadet will go there, and they’ll chase us away. Please step in; we really need it. Even though people are ill, they are afraid to visit the doctor since even then nothing will be done. He has made life quite challenging for us ever since this commander arrived. The meal is not particularly noteworthy.
