Hajara Usman, 19, of Ishehi Hamlet has been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command on suspicion of plotting to steal an infant.

 

According to a press release issued by the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili, and made available to journalists on Thursday, July 23, at around 7:00 a.m., Adamu Baka, a 55-year-old resident of the Galawa neighborhood in the Akuyam District of the Misau local government area, reported that at around 4:00 a.m., unidentified individuals broke into his daughter’s apartment, where she had just given birth, and fled with the newborn child.

Upon learning of the report, a team of detectives was quickly assembled, sprang into action, and eventually apprehended the thugs.

The baby was found with one Hajara Usman, 19, of Ishehi Hamlet, who conspired to kidnap the child with one Ibrahim Usman, 18, of Dugurgama Hamlet.

The suspects will be profiled and brought up in court for the established offenses of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping after the inquiry is complete in order to uncover the hidden motivations behind the initial conduct.

 

Another group was detained for criminal conspiracy, thugs, grievous harm, and attempting to commit culpable homicide, among other charges.
