A 20-YEAR-OLD HOUSEWIFE WAS ARRESTED FOR TORCHING HER HUSBAND’S HOME IN PROTEST OF HIS REFUSAL TO DIVORCE HER.

Amina Hassan, a 20-year-old housewife from Adamawa State, was arrested by police for reportedly setting her husband’s house on fire after he refused to divorce her.

Hassan, from Mubi North’s Shuware community, was believed to have married Muhammed Auwal roughly five weeks ago after he decided to divorce her immediately after their marriage ceremony.

“We made an agreement that he would divorce me after the marriage,” she told authorities. I met with him and begged him to divorce me, but he refused.

He descended on me and began b£ating me instead of divorcing me, which caused me to lose my cool and burn the home on fire.”

According to the DailyPost, Amina informed her parents a few days before the wedding that she was no longer interested in the marriage.

Her parents, however, felt that there was no going back because invitation cards had already been distributed.
