A DEPORTED NIGERIAN MAN WAS DETAINED AGAIN IN THAILAND AFTER TRYING TO RE-ENTER THE COUNTRY

Harrison Chinoso Onyema, a 40-year-old Nigerian man who was previously deported from Thailand for having cocaine, was apprehended again after entering the nation illegally.

On May 10, 2023, in Phuket, a team from Phuket Immigration and the Chalong police station detained Mr. Onyema for illegal entrance. He was found to be in possession of a digital scale that was likely used to weigh drugs.

After a police investigation discovered that an African man was operating an online romance scam and selling drugs like cocaine, Onyema was made public. They had a warrant to search his home in the Mueang Phuket district’s Rawai subdistrict, but they refused to let the police in when they arrived. Before letting them in, he was said to have flushed the toilet multiple times, which was seen as an attempt to get rid of any prohibited drugs.
