A FORTY-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO WAS ARRESTED IN ANAMBRA FOR RAPING A JUVENILE CLAIMS, “SHE TEMPTED ME AND I FELL BECAUSE I AM A MAN.”

A 40-year-old man known as Anietie Tim has been taken into custody by the Anambra State Government for allegedly r@ping a 14-year-old girl in Onitsha.

The culprit eluded agents of the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs & Children’s Welfare before being apprehended.

In a statement released on Thursday, April 18, 2024, Commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs. Ify Obinabo stated that the suspect has been dodging arrest at his residence barracks since the incident in 2022 with the assistance of certain military officers.

“In his defense, the suspect, Eninan AkwaIbom native Anietie Tim, said he was unaware that his victim was underage. He also claimed that she was the one who had enticed him, and he gave in because he is a man with blood coursing through his veins.

Additionally, Mr. Tim disclosed that, prior to the incident, he had already been friends with his 14-year-old victim, who he claimed was constantly mistreated at home.
