Rivers State, Nigeria — A Fresh Page is Here, governorship candidate Warigbani Ezekiel Zebulun has declared, as he thanked the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their roles ahead of the 2027 election.
Zebulun made the declaration in a message to supporters and party members in Rivers State.
He praised the national leadership of the DLA for providing what he described as a credible platform for political change in the state.
According to him, the party’s leadership has shown vision, courage and commitment to democratic principles.
He also thanked the DLA’s Rivers State leadership for its dedication and continued support.
Zebulun said the party had remained focused on its desire to provide what he called good governance for the people.
He also commended INEC for what he described as a professional handling of the electoral process.
The governorship candidate said the electoral body had properly assessed and published his candidacy in line with the law.
However, Zebulun used the message to appeal to Rivers residents not to be intimidated by political tensions.
He said the state had experienced unnecessary tension and intimidation for too long.
He also criticised what he described as a style of governance that benefits a few people at the expense of the wider population.
“Today, we urge you not to be afraid,” he said, while calling on residents to remain hopeful.
Zebulun then presented his political message as a new beginning for the state.
“A Fresh Page is Here,” he declared, expressing confidence that Rivers State would soon experience greater prosperity.
The candidate also praised Rivers residents for what he described as their positive spirit and resilience.
He ended his message by reaffirming his commitment to the DLA and Rivers State.
Zebulun is contesting the 2027 Rivers State governorship election under the Democratic Leadership Alliance.
