A man was detained after enticing female job searchers to hotels and assaulting them sexually.

The police in Bayelsa State have detained a 50-year-old man named Joseph Godfrey for allegedly luring unwary female job seekers to hotels and sexually assaulting them.

It was learned that the suspect frequently pretended to be a member of the Government House personnel in Yenagoa and enticed his victims with the prospect of employment and career possibilities.

“The suspect ran out of luck on October 10, 2022, at around 1300 hours, when one of the females raised alert and he was apprehended in Opolo, Yenagoa,” said the command’s spokesperson, ASP Asinim Butswat, in a statement.
