A man was detained in Bauchi after luring a 5-year-old boy with candy, kidnapping, and murdering him.

A 25-year-old man has been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command for the kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old boy in the state’s Ningi Local Government Area.

In a statement released on November 10, 2022, the command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the suspect, Anas Auwal, had used candy to entice the child to his room.

Later, he got in touch with the boy’s father and demanded N5,000,000 in ransom before releasing him. However, the individual informed Auwal that he was unable to raise such a huge sum of money.
The PPRO claims that the suspect killed the youngster after realizing that the victim recognized him.

The Command has detained 25-year-old Anas Auwal from Tsangaya village in Bauchi State for the gruesome murder and kidnapping of 5-year-old Abba Yahuza’m’ of the same address.
