Police have detained auxiliary nurse Jimoh Ganiyat, 35, for reportedly injecting graduate student Omosebi Tomiwa, 22, in the nerve, resulting in irreversible paralysis of one of his legs.

On Monday, December 19, 2022, the suspect, who poses as a registered nurse in the Arigbajo neighborhood of Ogun State, was arraigned before an Itori Magistrate Court.

She was charged in front of the magistrate on five counts, including malicious assault on the mother and victim as well as neglect and careless treatment of the victim. According to reports, she threatened both the victim’s and his mother’s lives after carrying out the act.

According to information obtained, the accused shot the victim in the nerve while treating him for typhoid and malaria, which left one of his legs permanently disabled.
