Inside a hotel in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, a woman who has not been named has been beheaded.
The dead and the suspect had booked into the hotel, but the suspect later told the receptionist that he wanted to leave for a short while.
But when hotel workers entered the suspect’s room, they found the young woman’s headless body.
Afolabi Babatola, the state commissioner of police, confirmed the unfortunate event and said he had directed an investigation.
According to Babatola, the Adamawa State Police Command is putting up great effort, collaborating with other security agencies, to apprehend the offender and settle the matter within the bounds of the law.
He asked people to maintain their composure and reassured them that every effort is being taken to keep them safe.
The Commissioner underlined that such violent acts would no longer be allowed and that everyone’s safety and wellbeing are of the utmost importance.
Additionally, he exhorted hotel owners to notify the authorities right once of anyone exhibiting dubious character.
