A small child who won hearts by copying the football star’s abilities and appearance received a kind gift of N2.5 million from Super Eagles phenomenon Victor Osimhen in an encouraging turn of events.
The child, who was wearing a mask that looked a lot like Osimhen’s, went viral on the internet when a video of him showing off his football skills went viral.
The video, which showed the young fan emulating Osimhen’s football skills with skill, was first posted on Tuesday by well-known Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut.
Shortly after, Osimhen himself noticed the video and was struck by the boy’s talent and admiration.
Osimhen, eager to see his youthful admirer, contacted Ednut and asked for help finding the child.
The boy was eventually located in Ivory Coast as a result of Ednut and content creator Eriq Morak’s joint efforts to search outside of Nigeria.
The football player’s selfless act demonstrates Osimhen’s dedication to helping the community and developing young people who look up to him.
Giving an update, Ednut wrote, “I initially thought this little man was Nigerian. You won’t believe we found him in Ivory Coast.
“#eriqmorak found him. He lives in Ivory Coast. I couldn’t see his message, so he reached out to #ogb recently_ and OGB messaged me. I spoke to the family briefly to make sure it was the boy.”
Osimhen then reached out and gifted the money to the boy, eliciting gratitude from his family, who shared a video thanking the footballer for his generosity.
