Mohammed Bashir, a journalist from Kogi, has announced that he and nine others who were kidnapped two weeks ago in a Kaduna suburb have been released. Bashir confirmed the news in a statement on Saturday.

He did not provide details about how they were freed or whether a ransom was paid. Bashir expressed gratitude for the support and prayers he received during the ordeal, saying, “I wish to thank you all for your prayers and concern. My family and the others kidnapped in Kaduna have finally been released. I am deeply grateful for your support and hope this never happens to anyone else. Thank you once again.”

Bashir’s wife, Aminat Shana, and his two daughters, Aisha and Hajara, were among those abducted the previous Thursday, along with other family members. The full list of those released includes Aisha Saba Khadija, Haruna, Adamu Haruna, Muhammad Abubakar, Asmau Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, Muhammad Abubakar, and Hauwa Muhammad.
