House of Representatives member for Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, has ruled out former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, from the 2027 presidential race.
Abejide, speaking during an interview on Mic On, said Amaechi no longer holds political relevance and would struggle to secure victory even in his home state.
“Amaechi is not a factor in the 2027 election; he can’t win in Rivers State,” Abejide declared. “He’s not a politician now; he was just a politician before. We’re talking about people who can pull a crowd.”
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) lawmaker further revealed that leaders in the party’s coalition — including Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, David Mark, Amaechi, and Peter Obi — might force ADC members out of the party.
However, Abejide singled out Atiku and Obi as the only politicians in the coalition capable of mobilising massive support.
