Bishop Sunday Onuoha, an African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for governor of Abia State, has stated that the INEC must outwit the politicians to ensure the success of the general election in 2023.
In a conversation with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abia State council yesterday in the state capital of Umuahia, Onuoha made this statement.
Without the new election law, he claimed, people like him would not have entered partisan politics. He expressed his satisfaction with the advances the commission had observed as a result of its introduction.
Concern over allegations that some people had not yet picked up their Permanent Voters’ Cards from the commission, as well as instances when people had been turned away from receiving their cards because they were in the opposition, was raised by the governorship candidate.
“The panel must maintain its apolitical nature to justify the trust placed in it. In addition, individuals who are impacted must scream out right now before it’s too late, according to the president of Vision Africa International.
