Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for president, charged on Monday that the APC, which is now in power, is responsible for Nigerians’ extreme poverty. Speaking at a rally in Gusau, Zamfara State, he added that the APC government’s nearly eight years in office had only brought terrorism and banditry to the local population.

Aside from Borno and Yobe, he claimed that no other State in the federation had experienced the same level of insecurity as Zamfara, which had lost its ability to engage in trade, agriculture, and animal husbandry.

Only a PDP administration, he claimed, could return the state to its heyday as a textile and railroad centre.

Because of what we have been reading on social media, we had been eager to visit Zamfara. We can now observe that it is accurate.

“First of all, allow me to express my condolences and sympathy to you. I am aware that, except from the residents of Borno and Yobe, no state other than yours has lost citizens as a result of banditry, including armed bandits, Atiku remarked.

“We pray that God would put an end to this, but if He so chooses, the only way to put an end to it all is to vote for the PDP, as the APC was responsible for bringing this wickedness about during the last seven to eight years of its rule. Our youth are not attending school because secondary and tertiary teachers are not paid, and they bring insecurity, poverty, and division.

“You will eliminate them with your vote. I vowed to bring back stability and peace to Nigeria. I have previously carried it out. Therefore, I don’t see any reason why Nigeria won’t have peace with your help and backing, with God’s blessing.

“Second, the Zamfara people are known for trading, farming, and raising livestock. None of these do at this time. Therefore, with your help, we will rebuild all companies and make sure that all of our children attend school without interruption.

“We will work with the governor you choose to see that what Zamfara requires is accomplished. As the federal government, we’ll see to it that the railroad that brought Kaura prosperity is built (Namoda). To revitalize the shuttered textile company, we will cooperate with the state government. We will provide capital to businesspeople so they may open these textiles and create jobs. Due to the fact that it is against the law, we will open borders. While others’ borders are open, ours are closed.

“They brought us into utter poverty; this is not fair. I vowed that the federal government would rebuild Bakalori Dam so that the farmers who were unable to farm could do so. I once had a promise from two governors to build an airport, but they never followed through. The state of Zamafara will receive assistance from the federal government in building the airport.

Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate for the PDP, told the gathering that he was confident Atiku will receive 80 percent of the vote in Zamfara.

The only person, according to him, who can restore the state’s tranquility, assist its companies, and end hunger is the PDP flag bearer.

He declared, “I am very certain that we have already won with more than 80% of the vote in Zamfara. I’m grateful that you didn’t vote for the APC since they brought unrest to our country. They introduced famine, but Atiku is here to put an end to it. You can have peace again thanks to Atiku. Atiku will help your companies succeed, he will help farmers, and he will end hunger. He will be in favor of our kids’ education. He’ll return Nigeria to the position we expect it to be in.

We are unable to go to bed hungry. Atiku will support the youth, the ladies, and ourselves by generating jobs. He has promised to improve our quality of life and Nigeria, and I appreciate your support. Atiku will make Nigeria great once more.
