Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has claimed that idolatry is rapidly increasing in the state, particularly among young people.
Therefore, Soludo advised the church to address the issue head-on in order to prevent the state from being completely overtaken by occultic forces.
At the dedication of a new church facility for the House of Testimony, Life of Faith Gospel Assembly, Federal Housing Estate, Onitsha, the governor made these remarks.
He referred to Anambra as God’s own state and exhorted all religious groups to band together to combat the “common criminals” as one body in Christ Jesus.
The Governor, who was represented by Sen. Baba Tela, his deputy, urged the Corps members to take advantage of the welcoming atmosphere to learn more about the citizens of the nation.
Let me guarantee you that Bauchi State is your home away from home, he said. You can see for yourself that our people are hospitable, amiable, and kind.
I urge you to take advantage of this welcoming, pleasant, and accommodating environment to obtain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the people of our wonderful country,” he continued. You do have the chance to improve your life and experiences at this point.
“Since the beginning of my government, we have launched war on criminals, their shrines, priests, and idols,” the governor proclaimed. They are welcome to bring whatever they choose, but as long as we have the Bible in our right hand, we will win.
“Anambra is in God’s hands, but we must never stop praying to rid our state of lawlessness, touting, and criminal activity.
“The fastest-growing religion in the state is idolatry. We shouldn’t consider it a given. Pope Francis advocates for unity. I attempt to live it rather than just preach it. We will all live if we stick together, but if we go our own ways, we will all perish. We should not give up on this land because it is ours.
“Our goal is to build more than 230 kilometers of roads in the first 24 months, which is actually our benchmark. In the state, there have never been roads of the caliber we are providing.
Coincidentally, his skill and moral character were considered when choosing our commissioner for works. Additionally, he is a Pentecostal. Although I’ve known him for years, I was unaware of his religious affiliation. I wasn’t aware of his religion when I chose him. I later learned that he was a Pentecostal.
“Getting people who would deliver is our primary goal; a round peg in a round hole. Let’s all model the kind of change we wish to see. Anambrawillcontinuetorise.”
