Olatunji Bello, the commissioner for environment and water resources for Lagos State, referred to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, as “an exceptional legend and God’s peculiar gift to Nigeria, whose type does not often occur in generations.”
The poor and the oppressed, whose interests had formed the cornerstone of his political ideology and the age-long struggle throughout the years, should not be left out of Tinubu’s exceptional and sterling endowments, he encouraged Nigerians.

The APC chieftain, who is also the group’s patron, urged members of the Mainland Independent Group (MIG), a campaign group for the actualization of Tinubu’s presidency, to spare no effort in a vigorous mobilization of the electorate to the progressive cause of Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The meeting was held at the Lion Gate Hotel in Sabo, a suburb of Yaba, Lagos.

In contrast to the previous presidential election in 2019, where Lagos State recorded one of the lowest voter turnouts in the entire federation despite having one of the highest concentrations of registered voters in the nation, he advised them to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and turn out in large numbers to vote.

“This must definitely not happen again at this pivotal time, when progressive individuals in Nigeria and the diaspora are desperately looking to Tinubu as the messiah, divinely anointed to emancipate the downtrodden and bring the country to unparalleled heights in its annals of existence,” Bello continued.

Alhaji Ibrahim Alao Megida, the founder of MIG, congratulated Bello for coming up with the idea that led to the creation of the campaign group and for giving resources for active mobilization throughout the state.

Abiodun Folajimi, an industrialist and economist, Chief Abiodun Kaka, Dr. Adetoun Adenuga, a distinguished academic at the University of Lagos, and Imam Yahya Sulaiman are among the other speakers.

Market traders and craftsmen, who make up a wide cross-section of the group, praised Tinubu and Bello for providing financial assistance for the realization of his presidential goal.

They exhorted other Tinubu backers in Lagos and throughout the federation to follow Bello’s lead in political mass mobilization to ensure Tinubu’s victory.
