ACF APPLAUDS THE KANO GOVERNMENT FOR CUTTING FEES BY 50%.

The reduction of the 50% registration fees for Kano State students in all state-owned postsecondary institutions has been hailed by the Arewa Consultative Forum as both revolutionary and exemplary.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, had instructed all natives enrolled in regular courses at state-owned higher institutions to benefit from a 50% registration fee reduction for the 2023–2024 academic year.

The Chairman of the ACF’s Kano State branch, Dr. Goni Farouk Umar, characterized the choice as both revolutionary and a sign of visionary leadership in a statement released by the forum’s publicity secretary, Bello Galandichi, on Thursday.

“We felt it necessary to express our delight with the state government’s resolve to reinstate its foreign scholarship program as well as its compassion in paying the registration fees for 7,000 state students at the BUK,” he said, according to the statement.

The ACF leader emphasized that reducing tuition at state universities and offsetting BUK fees will both significantly lessen the financial strain that the current economic downturn has placed on parents and students.

Farouk prayed for the effective execution of the government’s pro-poor education policies while calling education as powerful and essential to society growth.

Additionally, he made a plea for community support of all forms of educational growth.
