The Adamawa State Government imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area on Monday, following a renewed communal clash that flared up Sunday evening.

Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta’s Press Secretary, Hussaini Hammangabdo, confirmed the restriction, saying security operatives have been directed to restore law and order immediately. The state appealed for calm as security teams move in to stabilise the affected communities.

The Nigeria Police Command in the state also activated full deployment of personnel to Lamurde to enforce the curfew and prevent further violence.

Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has released additional operational assets to monitor compliance, stressing that officers will use all legal measures to maintain peace. He advised residents to stay indoors and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.

Authorities say the deployment includes collaboration with other security agencies and strict monitoring to deter any threat to public safety.
