Babatunji Wusu –
Fatai Adams, the suspended chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has claimed that he remains the party’s chairman.
Adams had previously been suspended by the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) in the state due to alleged anti-party conduct.
The nine members of the SWC who voiced worry about the infiltration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) into the opposition party supported this suspension.
Adams, though, is adamant that his suspension is unjustified and motivated by politics.
According to him, the suspension was planned to serve the purported goals of individuals who were engaged in the February election for the Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency Bye.
“This will not stand; we know what they are trying to do; their plans are to remove me so that they can execute their evil agenda for the Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency Bye-election, and we will not fall for that,” he said.
Meanwhile, desperation-stricken politicians have come under fire from former speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly Bakita Bello for not demonstrating enough affection and respect for the late Governor Rotimi
Some have speculated that the primary reason might be related to race and interests for the next gubernatorial election. Yes, that might be the case, but the political players involved in the impasse had shown blatant disregard for the rule of law, constituted authority, and opportunism. They didn’t treat the late governor’s situation with appropriate love and respect.
