The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of targeting his party despite its overwhelming political dominance.
Speaking on Politics Today, Abdullahi said the ADC remains calm and focused, while alleging that the ruling party appears unsettled.
“We in the ADC are calm because we know what we are doing, but they, the APC, are the ones; after having about 34 governors in their camp and almost all the National Assembly, they are still panicking. They are still sponsoring court cases against the ADC,” he said.
He further claimed that the APC consistently brings up the ADC in political discussions while allegedly working to weaken the party internally.
“They can’t have a conversation without talking about the ADC. They say ADC is comatose, it is this or that, instigating our members against us,” Abdullahi stated.
He also questioned what he described as contradictions in the actions of political actors allegedly working against the party.
“Those who can barely afford to feed are now hiring Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and we say that it just doesn’t add up,” he added.
Abdullahi dismissed concerns about the ADC’s viability, insisting that there is no legal or political risk for candidates contesting elections under the party’s platform.
“It’s not legally and politically dangerous for anyone to run on the platform of the ADC,” he said.
