The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to prioritize public service over personal ego.
ADC’s FCT Publicity Secretary, Chukwudi Samuel, in a statement issued Friday in Abuja, condemned Wike’s recent verbal attack on Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing it as “undignified of the office he occupies.”
Wike had berated Obi for visiting a government primary school in Abuja where he lamented the dilapidated infrastructure and poor learning conditions.
But the ADC insisted that Obi’s observation ought to spur immediate action — not irritation — from the FCT Minister.
“Leadership is about service, not ego. If a citizen, no matter who he is, points out decay in governance, a responsible minister fixes it, not fights it,” the party declared.
The ADC urged Wike to channel his energy into improving Abuja’s failing infrastructure instead of attacking perceived political rivals.
