The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has debunked online claims alleging that the party has already selected its flagbearer for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party dismissed the reports as false, misleading, and completely unverified.

Abdullahi stressed that the ADC does not hand-pick candidates, noting that no aspirant has been chosen ahead of the party’s official primary.

He explained that the party had already announced the date for its Osun governorship primaries and remains firmly committed to transparent internal democracy.

According to him, the viral announcement emanated from uncertified online posts and did not originate from any official ADC communication channel.

“Until the primaries are conducted by the party’s authorised organs, no candidacy stands recognised,” he said.

Abdullahi assured party members and the public that the ADC would provide a free, fair and level playing field for all aspirants.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading reports and rely solely on verified party information.
