Ademola Adeleke has voted in the current contests for the National Assembly and the Presidency.
Adeleke voted in the Ede North Local Government district’s Unit 009, Ward 2, Abogunde/Sagba.
The governor cast his ballot at 8:44 a.m. despite arriving at his polling place with his entourage at precisely 8:42 a.m.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the governor applauded INEC for using the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) for the election and noted that the device was functioning properly in his division after casting his ballot.
According to Adeleke, “The BVAS is here to stay,” and “I thank INEC for the calm conduct of the election.”
“I trust in the electoral process, and I am confident that my party will prevail in every election held in the state and across the country.
He claims that reports from other regions of the state demonstrate that the election is proceeding without any interruptions.
Mrs. Rebecca Amusan, a 95-year-old woman, claimed she came out early to vote because she was passionate about a new Nigeria.
Amusan claimed that she arrived at the polls as early as 6:00am when chatting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at Polling Unit 9, Ward 2, CAC Primary School, Edun-Abon, in Ife North Local Government.
The elderly woman claimed that having the strength to come out early came from her desire to elect a better leader who will advance peace and development in the nation.
However, Amusan, who was the first to be accredited, expressed dissatisfaction because the BVAS machine first failed to recognize her face and finger.
The nonagenarian expressed her happiness that her time and effort were not wasted after voting at 9:21am.
“I came out early to cast my vote because I want a new Nigeria.
I came here at six in the morning to cast my ballot, but I wasn’t happy when the BVAS couldn’t recognize my face and finger at first. But, I’m glad it worked the second time around.
Voting began at 9:00am, according to Funsho Abdullahi, the polling place’s presiding officer, who also blamed the delay on logistical issues.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), there was a sizable voter turnout and the presence of security personnel at the voting location.
The Osun House of Assembly’s Chief Whip, Mr. Tunde Olatunji, spoke at the voting place and voiced optimism for a free, orderly, and fair election.
Olatunji expressed optimism that Sen. Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, will win, noting that voters were anxious to exercise their rights.
The electorate has chosen whom to support, and in my opinion, their vote will be heard clearly, he stated.
