Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about a harrowing health ordeal that nearly claimed her life while she was in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons in June.

In an emotional Instagram post, the Sugar Rush star revealed that she underwent an emergency surgery following what she described as a “horrific” medical incident. Etomi said the experience was both terrifying and life-changing, adding that she only survived because “everything aligned perfectly.”

“I could have lost my life in June. What I went through was horrific and ended with an unplanned surgery — and strangely, the surgery itself was the least dramatic part of it all,” she wrote.

Etomi explained that the health crisis struck while she was in the UK for two speaking engagements. Reflecting on the event, she said she continues to shudder at the thought of how close she came to death.

“If even one single detail had been different, I wouldn’t be here today,” she added, expressing deep gratitude for what she described as divine intervention.

The actress, who has been vocal about her Christian faith, said the experience strengthened her belief in God and taught her to value life more deeply.

“There’s nothing anyone can tell me — God is real,” she declared.

Etomi urged her followers to live with compassion and gratitude, emphasizing the importance of kindness and patience.

“Let’s choose to be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I’ll never take another day for granted, neither should you,” she advised.

The revelation has sparked an outpouring of love and prayers from fans and colleagues across social media, with many thanking God for her survival and renewed strength.
