Head coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr, has identified debutant Burundi as the toughest opponent the Super Eagles will face at the group stages of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.

Rohr stated this following Nigeria’s 1-0 defeat to Senegal on Sunday in their final warm-up match before AFCON kicks off this weekend.

Nigeria will tackle Burundi in their first Group B opener on 22 June.

Rohr’s men are also in the same group with Guinea and Madagascar.

“The Burundi match will be our toughest in the group stages.

“Once we get it right, we can go on from there,” Rohr said in an interview with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) YouTube channel.
