In an accident in Lagos involving two commercial buses and a government-owned BRT bus, the death of an unidentified commercial bus driver has been verified.
On Wednesday, April 19, the incident happened near the Ogudu bridge in the state’s Alapere region.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon by Adebayo Taofiq, the director of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority’s public affairs and education department.
In the Ifako inner Ogudu area of the State, a painted commercial bus suffered a catastrophic head-on collision with another bus owned by Lagos Bus Service Limited. Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) today rescued 7 people with varying degrees of injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, which was caused by loss of control as a result of overspeeding, the commercial bus somersaulted twice, and the driver perished instantaneously.
