Princess Rukaiya, the wife of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate and a former vice president of Nigeria, revealed her husband’s intentions to prioritize women’s empowerment if elected president in 2023.
In a town hall meeting held in Kaduna as part of the PDP candidate’s campaign, Rukaiya said that more women would be taught to gain skills for empowerment.
I’m here to remind you, thank you, and also to ask you for a favor when the election is held, she stated.
Please support my husband, Aishiru Kudan, who is running for governor of Kaduna State, as well as the other PDP candidates.
I’ll return to empower women as well, and I’ll go ward by ward, taking at least 10 people from each ward to do so.
She thanked the Kaduna residents for their support during the most recent election, as well as for supporting her husband.
I want to thank you repeatedly since Kaduna State supported my husband heavily in the most recent election—he said as much himself.
The former governor of Kaduna State’s wife, Mrs. Ramalan Yero, the candidate for governor, Mrs. Amina Yakowa, the candidate for governor of Sokoto State, Hajiya Ramalat Isah Ashiru, the National Woman Leader, Hajiya Aisha Ubandoma, and the Zonal Woman Leader, Hajiya Mariya Waziri, were all present at the town hall meeting.
