A Kano State High Court sitting in Ungoggo Local Government Area of the state yesterday rejected Governor Umar Ganduje’s application seeking vacation of an order that restrained him and five others from taking any further action on the creation of four new emirates and appointment of emirs. Justice Nasiru Saminu said the court could not rely on judgement delivered by another court in a sister case to vacate the order as requested by defence counsel, maintaining that “the order the defendants’ counsel was referring to is not before this honorable court, hence this court cannot rely on it to give its verdict.” The judge averred that the order of ex-parte issued by the court based on an oral application by the Counsel to the plaintiffs, A.B Mahmoud SAN, should remain in course pending the determination of the motion on notice. Justice Saminu, who ordered all parties to comply with the order, adjourned that case to July 15, 2019 for hearing of the case
