The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, has urged the establishment of agricultural insurance and local climate advisory desks to help smallholder farmers adapt to climate change. Speaking through Dr. Deola Lordbanjo, Director of the Federal Department of Agricultural Extension Services, Kyari made this call at the recent Agricultural Insurance and Climate Advisory Round Table in Abuja.
This initiative aims to create a supportive environment for agricultural investments and strengthen farmers’ resilience against climate impacts, according to a statement by Assistant Director of Information, Ezeaja Ikemefuna, released on Monday.
