Outspoken activist Aisha Yesufu has taken a swipe at Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State governor, branding him a “village champion” who mistakes Abuja for Port Harcourt.

“Wike thinks Abuja is Port Harcourt, where he was a local champion and everyone shook at the mention of his name!” Yesufu posted on X.

Her criticism follows Wike’s controversial demolition of the Ruga community in Abuja, which displaced thousands. Social critic Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan, condemned the move, warning it could exacerbate security issues in the capital.

Wike defended the demolitions under the “Operation Sweep” task force, claiming they were necessary to sanitize and secure the FCT. However, critics argue his heavy-handed tactics could undermine stability and displace vulnerable populations.
