Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has celebrated his decisive win in Ondo State’s governorship election, pledging unwavering commitment to the people.
Addressing journalists in Akure after being declared the winner, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the renewed mandate, vowing to lead Ondo beyond 2025 with integrity and dedication. “I thank Ondo for the trust placed in me, and I promise to serve diligently,” he stated.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed Aiyedatiwa’s triumph after he garnered 366,781 votes, outpacing his closest rival, Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes. Olorunfemi Festus of the Labour Party (LP) and Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) trailed significantly, with 1,162 votes combined.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi, declared Aiyedatiwa the winner, cementing his position for another term.
