Babatunji Wusu –
There are rumors that Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, may shortly travel back to Germany for additional medical examinations.
Since his return from his medical vacation, the governor has remained at his home in Ibadan, where he is reportedly undergoing treatment.
The state’s opposition parties had urged the governor to step down from office or come back to take over the reins of the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) protested the governor’s absence on Monday in response to the call’s failure to produce a result.
According to a source who spoke with Vanguard about the situation in Akure, Akeredolu could leave at any time for additional medical examinations.
According to the source, Governor Akeredolu may return to Germany to continue his medical care.
He should return in full by the middle of next month. He will return to the state fully at that time.
Akeredolu is as fit as a fiddle, according to a governor’s assistant who denied the rumors, and wouldn’t need to visit Germany again.
The assistant, who requested anonymity, claimed that the report that the governor wasn’t healthy enough to continue and would be flown back to Germany was fabricated in order to harm the governor’s reputation.
“It’s a clear falsehood; the governor has returned and is currently resting in Ibadan. He will shortly resume his duties in the state fully.
You are aware of how close our election is. All those who believe Governor Akeredolu won’t be present throughout the election campaign would be embarrassed by him. By God’s extraordinary grace, he will have a say in the person who replaces him.
